How to Participate

The Paperless University blog encourages students, faculty, staff, and alumni of the University of Miami to join our experiment in developing a paper-free teaching, learning, research, and work environment. If you are willing to commit to living for a period of time, say, a semester, without paper, and to share your experience with the world, please join us by filling out the form below.

Upon approval, our editor, Bryanna Herzog, will create an account for you on our WordPress site. We ask that your first entry be an introductory post telling the world about yourself, your paper-related habits, and how you hope to change them (check out the Extras > Introductions category for examples). After that, continue to post on your experiences over time (we suggest once a week).

General Guidelines:

Paperless University is a moderated blog, and posters deemed inappropriate will be blocked from participating.

  • Posts must be useful to the readers of this blog.
  • Posts must be grammatically correct and well-written.
  • Posts do not have to cover only one subject or category. For example, a review post that also gives a tutorial about the product can be good.
  • The post must be your original content. If we suspect that a post contains duplicate or unoriginal content without giving due credit to the original source, we will check it with Copyscape or Google. Posts found with plagiarized content will not be approved.
  • We cannot stress enough that content is extremely important. The following are examples of the types of posts that are not accepted: adult content, commercial, racist, posts with excessive abusive/adult language, etc…
  • Paperless University editors reserve the right to reject a post for any reason they see necessary.
  • Paperless University editors reserve the right to modify submitted posts for consistency in style, grammar, and formatting prior to web publication.
